Our Home Education Journey
π Welcome!
This page is all about how our home education journey began – an adventure I never planned, but one that’s shaped our lives in the best possible ways.
How It All Began
When I had my first amazing baby boy at the (surprisingly energetic!) age of thirty-three, I couldnβt imagine being apart from him. Long before he could even walk, Iβd already decided he wouldnβt be going to pre-schoolβand I wouldnβt be working outside the home. I just couldnβt bear the idea of missing those precious early milestones or handing over his care to someone else. Besides, my own school years werenβt exactly joyful, and Iβve never agreed with how the system works for many reasonsβ¦ but thatβs a story for another day.
So, I did some digging. βWhat if I justβ¦ didnβt send him to school?β
Enter: home education.
What a discovery! I was thrilled. I read everything I could, soaked up knowledge like a sponge, and jumped in headfirst.
Teaching him at home felt so natural. Then we discovered he had a sensory processing disorder (SPD)βand suddenly, the flexibility of home educating became even more valuable. Being with him every day helped me understand him deeply, and together we learned how to navigate the challenges.
Learning and Adapting
As our family grew, our home education journey evolved. I taught our second and third children with the same heart-led approach, constantly adapting methods to suit them (and our budget). Weβve never had much financially, but Iβve learned how to teach effectively using free or cheap resources. By the time our fourth child arrived, I had a clear sense of what worked best for our family.
Weβve now been home educating across four children, three countries, and nearly two decades of life. It hasnβt always been easy, but itβs been deeply rewarding.
βKids aren’t opposed to learning, they’re opposed to boring.β β Phil Vischer
Questions We’re Often Asked
Over the years, many people have asked:
How do you manage teaching four children?
What methods do you use without a formal curriculum?
How do you home educate on such a tight budget?
This section of the websiteβand the eBooks Iβm working onβare my way of answering those questions and sharing whatβs worked (and what hasnβt!) for us. If youβre starting out, overwhelmed, curious, or simply need encouragementβ¦ youβre in the right place.
We hope what we share here helps you find your own rhythm and joy in this magical way of life. Because home educating isnβt just about lessonsβitβs a lifestyle. One filled with freedom, family bonding, character building, and learning to see the world through your childrenβs eyes. And that? Thatβs the real adventure.

π¬ From Our Family to Yours
Home education isnβt about being perfect.
Itβs about being present. Itβs about having the courage to say, βI think thereβs a better way,β and building a life that fits your familyβs needsβnot squeezing your family into someone elseβs mould.
If you’re tired, unsure, or overwhelmedβyouβre not alone.
Weβve been there. We still have βthoseβ days.
But this life? Itβs worth it. Truly.
Letβs walk this road together. β€οΈ
